Extreme rare, antigue map : ´Moscva´ - bird´s eye view of Moscow ,cooper etching on paper, created ca. 1635 by renowed Swiss etcher, karthograph and book dealer Matthaeus Merian sinior (1593 Basel - 1650 Schwabach).
Literature: Thieme/Becker"General Artist Dictionary", Leipzig, 1999
Inscription: in Latin titled,on the reverse inscribed "Merian, 16352.
Technique: cooper etching on paper , unframed.
Measurements: image w 15 1/4" x h 19 3/4 " (39 x 33,3 cm).
Condition: a few marks on the upper margin, one paper crease close to centerfold, overall goood condition. |
