Romantic portrait miniature on ivory of a young noble lady was executed in 19th century in the style of famous Italian-Russain miniaturist Johann Dominik Bossi (1767 Trieste -1853 Munich), also known under Domenico Bossi (1765 Trieste - 1853 Munich), He was born in Trieste, studied by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo and worked primarily as miniature painter in Germany, Austria , Sweden and Russia before he settled down in Munich. In Russia he was court painter and was achnowledged as one of the best painter of Russian noble portraits. Hios works situated in Russian Museum and Hermitage, both - in St.Petersburg.
