Large masterfully genre watercolour with a couple of noble draught players was executed by good listed Italian genre artist Enrico Gamba (1831 Turin - 1883). He studied at the Academy in Turin and Staedel Institute in Frankfurt (under Steinle). After study trips to Holland and Belgium he came back to Italy , lived and worked in Rome and Venice. Our watercolour was created by the author in Venice too, it signed Gamba V. (V. means Venice). In Italy he created a seria of historical paintings and genre scenes in oil and watercolour, later altar paintings and portraits for City Hall in Turin , Italian and american churches. His works situated in the Gall.Moderna in Turin, in the Gall.Nazionale to Rome .
