Funny genre painting of academical quality was executed in the end of 19th century by good listed German genre painter Heinrich Weber (1843 Esplingerode/Eichsfeld - 1913). The artist , the representative of famous Muinch genre school, studied at the Munich Academy by W.Diez and worked in Munich and homeland village Esplingerode. Exhibited his genre works since 1873. Popular with his genre portraits of drinker, folk types, monks and clerical persnalities from homeland. A few paintings by him situated in State Gallery Munich, in churches of Desingerode, Germershausen, Nesselrode.

Inscription: signed , incribed and dated "H.Wber, M.(Munich), 1899 upper right, on the reverse of panel - a gift dedication, dated 1915.
