Early Biedermeier portrait miniature on ivory with young lady and a landscape in background was executed ca. 1820s by listed (source : lexicons by Benezit ; Thieme/Becker) miniaturist Renard , who worked in France and Berlin in 1810s -1830s.
Inscription: signed lower right.
Technique: Gouache on ivory. Original period gilt bronze frame.
Measurements: unframed w 2 7/8" x h 3 3/8" (7,2 x 8,7 cm), framed w 3 1/4" x h 3 3/4" (8,2 x 9,6 cm)
