Curious hunting scene with a hare and hunted fox was executed 19th century by reniwn german landscape and animal painter Ludwig (Louis) Gustav Voltz (1825 Augsburg - 1911 Munich). The artist came from the famous artist family: he was the son of painter Johann Voltz and brother of one of the best German animalist Friedrich Voltz. Ludwig Voltz sutdied in the Munich Fine Arts Academy . He worked fornoble families of prince Thurn -Taxis and Wallerstein. and created a lot of horse paintings, hunting scenes and landscapes with foxes, dogs,chamoises, deers, feather/spring game. Many of his works were purchased and went to USA collectors. Voltz worked as illustrator for Munich magazine " Munchner Bilderbogen" (Braun& Cutters publishers), his works situated in the museums of Bautzen and St.Gallen.
