Masterfully genre scene with children was executed 1851 by good-listed German historical and genre painter HERMANN THEODOR SCHULTZ ( 1816 Wittstock - 1862 Berlin). The artist studied by K.Wach and Karl Blechen , active by decorations of castle chapel in Berlin (12 kings and priests of the old federation (alte Bund) and the prophets Samuel and Jesaias; and the hall of Old Museum (4 representations from the Herkules and Theseus story). He was active also as genre painter. In the list of his works ( Boetticher "Malerwerke des 19 Jahrhunderts") there are a few genre paintigs: "Ein Mönch und Kinder", "Osternmorgen", "Der Abschied" , "Aufziehendes Gewitter" and others.

Inscription: signed and dated Hermann Schultz, 1851 lower right, on the stretcher - old label of Prussian Art Union in german (Preußischer Kunstverein).
