Masterfully original theater design (gouache on paper) was executed in 1942 in Kiew by listed Ukrainian graphic and theater painter Galina Nikolaevna Makovskaya (in ukrainian: Galina Mikolaevna Makovska). Motive of this design - world-famous poem "Knight in the tiger-skin" by Georgian poet of 12th century Shota Rustavelli. The gouache was painted in the style of old Georgian manuscript designs . The artist Galina Makovskaya was born 1915 in Kiew/Ukraine , studied in Art school in Kiew until 1931(by V.Krichevsky, G.Pustovijt) and worked as theater diesgner and graphic artist (ink, gouache). Works of artist: "Snow Maiden (Snegurochka)", 1950; "Spring", 1961; "Dull day", 1963; "Uzbek Epic saga Alpamish" , 1965(now in the Art Museum ,Tashkent / Uzbekistan); illustrations for books "Belorussian tales", 1962; theater stage design for "Snow queen" by E.Schwartz in the opera and balett theater in tashkent; to ballet "October legend" in the state dance theater of Ukraine, 1967.
