Fine allegorical scene was executed ca.1830s-1840s by listed French historical and portrait artist Auguste Charpentier (1813 - Paris-1880). The painter studied by Ingres , debuted in Salon 1833 with historical scenes . From 1837 to 1870 he regularly showed his works at the exhibitions of Salon in Paris.His paintings situated in Louvre ("Worshipping the herdsmen"); 11 religious and allegorical paintings in the church Saint-Roch in Paris; the artist painted frequently paintings from Italy ( apropos our work titled Bosio - an area in province Alessandria, Piemont, Italy).
