Great seascape by well renowed german marine painter Karl (Karl Theodor) Boehme (1866 Hamburg - 1939 Munich). The artist studied : 1884-92 Academy in Karlsruhe by Gustav Schönleber. From his journeys to Rügen, Bornholm and Norway (1891), later also to France developed numerous coastal paintings. His coastal motives of South Italy , which he painted v.a. during a longer stay on Capri, bring him large success. Since 1891 he took part at exhibitions in Munich, Vienna, Berlin, Salzburg and Buenos Aires ; repeated honors (among other things golden Med.).
