Francesco Simonini (1686 Parma - 1753 Florence?) - important italian battle painter of the late baroque, he studied in in Parma by I.Spolverini and in Brescia by Fr,Monti. Later he came to florence where studied battle painting of Jacques Courtois and made 24 copies after his paintings in palazzo Piccolomini.. He founded atelier in Bologna, worked in Bologna and Venice, later came back to Florence. His  works are to be counted stylistic to the late baroque. In the lively motion strong temper comes to the expression. Mass scenes are masterfully arrange beside the influence durch J.Courtois betray some paintings also know-eat the Netherlands baroque masters, thus Wouwermans and Van of the Meulens, whose pictures were  were to be found in Italy in 18 century   frequently.

His battle and military scenes  retained in Bergamo, Academy Carrara ,Darmstadt (federal state museum), Florenz 8Gall.Corsini), Padua( Museo Civico), Venice (Museo Civico); and other museums and private collections in Italy, Germany and Austria.
