Beautiful still life with flowers, glass and apples was created in ca.1910-1920s by famous Austrian portrait and still life painter Joseph Jost , born 1888 in Vienna. The artist studied under the tutelage of Fraz Rumplers at the Vienna Academy and already in 1908 exhibited his works at the Vienna Artists Unit. In the following years Jost frequetly exhibited his paintings there. To continue his education he travelled to Italy and Albania. In 1920 Jost became a member of Vienna Artists Unit. His still lifes arrive high estimates by the international auctions. For exemple "The tea still life", 63x81 cm was sold in he auction by christies on 18,09.2003 for 8220 pounds/ ca. 12 000 € (see last additional photo).
