Monumental sunset landscape with caravane and panorama view of Cairo on the back ground was executed by renowed German painter,orientalist and illustrator Edmund Berninger( 1843 Arnstadt/Thüringen - after 1909). He studied 1870-74 in the art school Weimar by Theodor Hagen. 1903 from Munich moved to Paris. From 1904 finally ilived n Munich . He made many journeys (England, Holland, Italy, Algiers, Tunis, Egypt, Palestine, Turkey, Greece) developed B. a preference for landscapes with enrich figures (Venetian. night celebration; Themse b. London; City views of Cairo and Jerusalem; Caravan and oriental. market scenes). Especially the colormagnificent scenes and sun-flooded landscapes from the Orient in oil and Aqu. found general acknowledgment from 1880s. Successfully were also Pano and Dioramen , among other " Excerpt of the Israeliten from Egypt (main work) and in the early period with relig. Motives. As Illustrator he worked for the magazines and decorated books for youth. (1878/79) and daughter album (1886, 1892) and together with Adolf Obermuellner " The discovery journeys in old and recent time" by G.Stein (Glogau 1883).
