The perfect forest painting was executed by an Austrian landscape and architecture painter Leopold Munsch, born 1826 in Vienna (died 1888). The artist was a student of Johann Nepomuk Geiger, worked in Vienna and Pressburg (now Bratislava). . In 1869 Munsch became a member of Viennese Artists Unit (Wiener Kuenstlerhaus).
