Nice belle epoque genre scene in antiques shop , painted by rewnown Czech illustrator and watercolour artist Karel Simunek (1869 - 1942). He studied under Prof.Brozik and Pirner at the Prague Academy and was also known as a poster and stage designer.
k.Simunek is listed in the New Dictionary of Czech Painters by Dr.P.Toman, Prague 1950.
Inscription: signed and dat.1905 lower left.
Technique: watercolour on paper, matted . In original gold-plated frame.
Measurements: image w 14 1/2" x h 17" (37 x 43 cm); framed w 21 3/4" x h 24" (55 x 61 cm)
